God or money? Eternal Life or lake of fire?
We cannot serve God and the prince of this
world, the devil, aka Satan; we cannot serve God and money, and we cannot be a
servant of righteousness and unrighteousness: “For the love of money is the
root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the
faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows” (1 Timothy 6:10).
“Surely men of low degree are vanity, and men
of high degree are a lie: to be laid in the balance, they are altogether
lighter than vanity. Trust not in oppression, and become not vain in robbery:
if riches increase, set not your heart upon them” (Psalm 62:9–10).
Jesus says: “Lay not up for yourselves
treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break
through and steal. But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither
moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal.
For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also” (Matthew 6:19-21).
Do not be deceived because eternal life is
not going to be on this earth (Isaiah 65:17-18) (Revelation 21:1-2): “For
surely there is an end” (Proverbs 23:18).
On the Last Day. The Day of Judgment, before
the final warth of God is poured out on this earth, “Truth shall spring out of
the earth; and righteousness shall look down from heaven” (Psalm 85:11); “then
cometh the end, when he shall have delivered up the kingdom to God, even the
Father; when he shall have put down all rule and all authority and power” (1
Corinthians 15:24).
“And
the seventh angel poured out his vial into the air; and there came a great
voice out of the temple of heaven, from the throne, saying, ‘It is done.’”
(Revelation 16:17–18, 20–21).
