“For surely there is an end” (Proverbs 23:18).
When Jesus sat with his disciples on Mount
Olives they asked: “Tell us, when shall these things be? And what shall be the
sign of thy coming, and of the end of the world?” (Matthew 24:3).
Jesus said: “Take heed that no man deceive
you. For many shall come in my name, saying, ‘I am Christ;’ and shall deceive
many” (Matthew 24:4–5).
What is the key sign?
Jesus said: “When ye therefore shall see the
abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy
place, (whoso readeth, let him understand)” (Matthew 24:15).
“And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom
the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the
brightness of his coming: Even him, WHOSE COMING IS AFTER THE WORKING OF SATAN
with all power and signs and lying wonders, And with all deceivableness of
unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the
truth, that they might be saved” (2 Thessalonians 2:8-10).
“For when they shall say, peace and safety;
then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child;
and they shall not escape” (1 Thessalonians 5:3).
Jesus says: “Watch therefore: for ye know not
what hour your Lord doth come” (Matthew 24:42).
“Behold,
he cometh with clouds; and every eye shall see him, and they also which pierced
him: and all kindreds of the earth shall wail because of him. Even so, Amen”
(Revelation 1:7).
