Envy?
“Wrath is cruel, and anger is outrageous; but
who is able to stand before envy?” (Proverbs 27:4).
“How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer,
son of the morning! how art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the
nations! For thou hast said in thine heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will
exalt my throne above the stars of God: I will sit also upon the mount of the
congregation, in the sides of the north: I will ascend above the heights of the
clouds; I will be like the most High. Yet thou shalt be brought down to hell,
to the sides of the pit” (Isaiah 14:12-15).
When the great dragon was cast out, that old
serpent, called the Devil, and Satan and his angels were cast out with him to
the nether parts of the earth (Revelation 12:9), there was a great celebration
in heaven; “Therefore rejoice, ye heavens, and ye that dwell in them. [WOE TO
THE INHABITERS OF THE EARTH AND OF THE SEA FOR THE DEVIL IS COME DOWN UNTO YOU,
HAVING GREAT WRATH, BECAUSE HE KNOWETH THAT HE HATH BUT A SHORT TIME]”
(Revelation 12:12).
Jesus knew of the lies of Lucifer, the devil,
aka Satan, the prince of this world from when he was in heaven when “He said to
his disciples, ‘I beheld Satan as lightning fall from heaven’” (Luke 10:18).
“He
was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is
no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a
liar, and the father of it” (John 8:44).
