The fear of the LORD:
“Hear instruction, and be wise, and refuse it
not” (Proverbs 8:33).
Our end is near; our days are fulfilled, for
indeed the end is coming one day. For those who refuse to come to knowledge of
the truth through the word of God, God has forewarned:
“When your fear cometh as desolation and your
destruction cometh as a whirlwind; when distress and anguish cometh upon you.
Then shall they call upon me, but I will not answer; they shall seek me early,
but they shall not find me. For that they hated knowledge, and did not choose
the fear of the LORD” (Proverbs 1:27–28).
“The fear of the LORD is a fountain of life,
to depart from the snares of death” (Proverbs 14:27).
“Upon the wicked he shall rain snares, fire
and brimstone, and a horrible tempest: this shall be the portion of their cup”
(Psalm 11:6).
