A world of Foolishness (1 Corinthians 3:19).
Who is dating who? Who just
broke up with who? This person is slamming this other person. This video just
went viral for the wrong reason. This person just won a multimillion dollar contract.
This person is now dating. How to get the perfect summer beach body, and the
list goes on and on.
Is it any wonder that there
are over one billion people living in conditions of poverty in this world.
Go now and click to open any
major internet portal, and without any doubt there will be no mention of God or
his only begotten Son Jesus Christ.
Instead the pages are filled
with world news about war mongering; celebrity sightings and make-ups and
break-ups; money; lifestyles and so on. All things of the world: the prince of
this world.
“Whosoever therefore will be
a friend of the world is an enemy of God” (James 4:4). “For the wisdom of this
world is foolishness with God” (1 Corinthians 3:19).
“Love not the world, neither
the things that are in the world. If any man loves the world, the love of the
Father is not in him. For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and
the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of
the world. And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth
the will of God abideth forever” (1 John 2:15–17).
“Ye are of God, little
children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he
that is in the world. They are of the world: therefore speak they of the world,
and the world heareth them. We are of God: he that knoweth God heareth us; he
that is not of God heareth not us” (1 John 4:1-3).
Especially
in this present time, we are to be watchful in all things to keep at the
forefront of our daily lives the love of the word of God, the love of the
Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit; and not the love of this world (Luke 4:4,
11:28).
