A Lifetime versus E T E R N
A L L I F E.
Jesus, the only begotten Son
of God says: “Search the Scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life:
and they are they which testify of me. And ye will not come to me, that ye
might have life” (John 5:39–40).
Being alive on this earth
does not mean that we have life: this is only a lifetime.
“Set your affection on
things above, not on things on the earth.
For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God” (Colossians
3:2–3).
“For God so loved the world,
that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not
perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to
condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. He that
believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned
already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of
God” (John 3:16-18).
Jesus also says: “Not every
one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but
he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven” (Matthew 7:21). “For
many are called, but few are chosen” (Matthew 22:14).
“He that hath an ear, let
him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; he that overcometh shall not
be hurt of the second death” (Revelation 2:11).
“Be not deceived; God is not
mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap. For he that
soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to
the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting” (Galatians 6:7–8).
“There
is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk
not after the flesh, but after the Spirit” (Romans 8:1).
