“The people which sat in
darkness saw great light; and to them which sat in the region and shadow of
death light is sprung up. From that time Jesus began to preach, and to say,
Repent: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand” (Matthew 4:16-17).
“AT the same time came the disciples unto
Jesus, saying, ‘Who is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven?’ And Jesus called
a little child unto him, and set him in the midst of them,
And said, Verily I say unto
you, Except ye be converted, and become as little children, ye shall not enter
into the kingdom of heaven.
Whosoever therefore shall
humble himself as this little child, the same is greatest in the kingdom of
heaven” (Matthew 18:1-4).
“Blessed are the poor in
spirit: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven” (Matthew 5:3).
“Blessed are they which are
persecuted for righteousness’ sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven”
(Matthew 5:10).
“Not every one that saith
unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth
the will of my Father which is in heaven.
Many will say to me in that
day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast
out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?
And then will I profess unto
them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity” (Matthew
7:21-23).
“For many are called, but
few are chosen” (Matthew 22:14).
