LOVERS OF GOD or lovers of pleasures?
We do not get to do whatever
we wish to do with our bodies because there will be eternal life or everlasting
punishment as a consequence to whatever we have done in our lifetime.
“For we must [ALL] appear
before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done
in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad” (2
Corinthians 5:10).
“Now the body is not for
fornication, but for the Lord; and the Lord for the body. Flee fornication.
Every sin that a man doeth is without the body; but he that committeth
fornication sinneth against his own body” (1 Corinthians 6:13).
“Nevertheless, to avoid
fornication, let every man have his own wife, and let every woman have her own
husband” (1 Corinthians 7:2). Paul, the apostle also wrote about the unmarried,
widows ans widowers, said: “If they cannot contain, let them marry: for it is
better to marry than to burn” (1 Corinthians 7:8-9).
“Let every soul be subject
unto the higher powers. For there is no power but of God: the powers that be
are ordained of God. Whosoever therefore resisteth the power, resisteth the
ordinance of God: and they that resist shall receive to themselves damnation”
(Romans 13:1–2).
“This know also, that in the
last days perilous times shall come. For men shall be lovers of their own
selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents,
unthankful, unholy, without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers,
incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good, traitors, heady,
highminded, [LOVERS OF PLEASURES MORE THAN LOVERS OF GOD]; having a form of
godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away” (2 Timothy
3:1–5).
“Take heed, brethren, lest
there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief, in departing from the living
God. But exhort one another daily, while it is called To day; lest any of you
be hardened through the [DECEITFULNESS OF SIN]. For we are made partakers of
Christ, if we hold the beginning of our confidence stedfast unto the end”
(Hebrews 3:12-14).
“The
soul that sinneth, it shall die” (Ezekiel 18:20).
