NEWNESS OF LIFE versus old life.
At this very moment in time,
untold numbers of people around this world are buying, exchanging or receiving
a gift of something new: a new house, a new car, a new home appliance, a new computer, a new tablet, a new smartphone
and so on.
Human beings by nature like
to obtain new things or replace things that are old for something new. Yet, the
most important replacement in a lifetime is being ignored by untold numbers of people.
What is that?
A NEW LIFE: “For ye are
dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God” (Colossians 3:2–3).
Now, unlike purchasing or
obtaining something new in this world, a NEW LIFE is free: a FREE GIFT from GOD
(Romans 5:17-19).
“For God so loved the world,
that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not
perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to
condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved” (John
3:16-17).
“For since by man came
death, by man came also the resurrection of the dead. For as in Adam all die,
even so in Christ shall all be made alive” (1 Corinthians 15:21–22).
“For if by one man’s offence
death reigned by one; much more they which receive abundance of grace and of the
gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ.)
Therefore as by the offence
of one judgment came upon all men to condemnation; even so by the righteousness
of one the [FREE GIFT] came upon all men unto justification of life.
For as by one man’s
disobedience many were made sinners, so by the obedience of one shall many be
made righteous” (Romans 5:17-19).
“What shall we say then?
Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound? God forbid. How shall we, that
are dead to sin, live any longer therein? Know ye not, that so many of us as
were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death? Therefore we are buried with him by baptism
into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the
Father, even so we also should walk in [NEWNESS OF LIFE]” (Romans 6:1-4).
Now,
therefore, “as the only way to get the things that are eternal is through Jesus
Christ who died for us; for this purpose then we should live unto him and not
unto ourselves” (2 Corinthians 5:15).
