P O W E R OF G O D: The C R O S S.
“Look unto me, and be ye saved,
all the ends of the earth: for I am God, and there is none else” (Isaiah
45:22).
“For God so loved the world,
that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not
perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to
condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. He that
believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned
already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of
God” (John 3:16-18).
“For it is written, ‘I will
destroy the wisdom of the wise, and will bring to nothing the understanding of
the prudent.’ For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish
foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God” (1 Corinthians
1:18-19).
“For if we have been planted
together in the likeness of his death, we shall be also in the likeness of his
resurrection. Knowing that Christ being raised from the dead dieth no more;
death hath no more dominion over him” (Romans 6:5, 9).
“Yet if any man suffer as a
Christian, let him not be ashamed; but let him glorify God on this behalf. But
rejoice, inasmuch as ye are partakers of Christ’s sufferings; that, when his
glory shall be revealed, ye may be glad also with exceeding joy” (1 Peter 4:13,
16).
“For none of us liveth to
himself, and no man dieth to himself. For whether we live, we live unto the
Lord; and whether we die, we die unto the Lord: whether we live therefore, or
die, we are the Lord’s. For to this end Christ both died, and rose, and
revived, that he might be Lord both of the dead and living” (Romans 14:7-9).
“The Spirit itself beareth
witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God: And if children, then
heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with
him, that we may be also glorified together” (Romans 8:16-17).
“He
that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; To him
that overcometh will I give to eat of the tree of life, which is in the midst
of the paradise of God” (Revelation 2:7).
