DAY OF JUDGMENT: END OF THE WORLD. Good Seed or Sheep versus Tares or Goats?
When Jesus returns on the
Day of Judgment on the Last Day, he says: “Not every one that saith unto me,
Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will
of my Father which is in heaven” (Matthew 7:21).
Jesus explains: “He that
soweth the good seed is the Son of man; the field is the world; the good seed
are the children of the kingdom; but the tares are the children of the wicked
one; the enemy that sowed them is the Devil; the harvest is the end of the
world; and the reapers are the angels” (Matthew 13:37-39).
“When the Son of man shall
come in his glory, and all the holy angels with him, then shall he sit upon the
throne of his glory:
And before him shall be
gathered all nations: and he shall separate them one from another, as a
shepherd divideth his sheep from the goats: And he shall set the sheep on his
right hand, but the goats on the left” (Matthew 25:31-32).
“Many will say to me in that
day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast
out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? And then will I profess
unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity” (Matthew
7:21-23).
“As therefore the tares are
gathered and burned in the fire; so shall it be in the end of this world. The
Son of man shall send forth his angels, and they shall gather out of his
kingdom all things that offend, and them which do iniquity; and shall cast them
into a furnace of fire: there shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth” (Matthew
13:40-42).
“Then shall he say also unto
them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire,
prepared for the devil and his angels:” (Matthew 25:41). “And these shall go
away into everlasting punishment: but the righteous into life eternal” (Matthew
25:46).
“Then shall the King say
unto them on his right hand, Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom
prepared for you from the foundation of the world:” (Matthew 25:34).
“Then shall the righteous
shine forth as the sun in the kingdom of their Father. Who hath ears to hear,
let him hear” (Matthew 13:43).
“Fear not, little flock; for
it is your Father’s good pleasure to give you the kingdom” (Luke 12:32).
