Life and death | Eternal Life or Second Death?
“What man is he that liveth,
and shall not see death? Shall he deliver his soul from the hand of the grave?”
(Psalm 89:48).
“There is no man that hath
power over the spirit to retain the spirit; neither hath he power in the day of
death: and there is no discharge in that war; neither shall wickedness deliver
those that are given to it” (Ecclesiastes 8:8).
“For that which befalleth
the sons of men befalleth beasts; even one thing befalleth them: as the one
dieth, so dieth the other; yea, they have all one breath; so that a man hath no
preeminence above a beast: for all is vanity. All go unto one place; all are of
the dust, and all turn to dust again. Who knoweth the spirit of man that goeth
upward, and the spirit of the beast that goeth downward to the earth?”
(Ecclesiastes 3:19-21).
“If a man die, shall he live
again?” (Job 14:14).
“Blessed be the LORD, who
daily loadeth us with benefits, even the God of our salvation. Selah. He that
is our God is the God of salvation; and unto God the LORD belong the issues
from death” (Psalm 68:19-20).
“And as it is appointed unto
men once to die, but after this the judgment” (Hebrews 9:27).
“And the times of this
ignorance God winked at; but now commandeth all men every where to repent:
Because he hath appointed a day, in the which he will judge the world in
righteousness by that man whom he hath ordained; whereof he hath given
assurance unto all men, in that he hath raised him from the dead” (Acts
17:30-31).
Jesus Christ, the man who God
ordained says: “I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me,
though he were dead, yet shall he live: And whosoever liveth and believeth in
me shall never die. Believest thou this?” (John 11:25-26).
“No man can come to me,
except the Father which hath sent me draw him: and I will raise him up at the
[LAST DAY]” (John 6:44).
“I
am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me”
(John 14:6).
