What about the "rights" of the poor?

Another awards show where the stage was set to promote or to bring awareness to some “causes” and “rights”! Yet, we live is a world where hardly any attention is made to the “rights” of the poor!

The Scriptures tells us that “The profit of the earth is for all: the king himself is served by the field” (Ecclesiastes 5:9).

However, this is not what has transpired in the world. What kind of world is this where a recent article headlined: “World's eight richest people have same wealth as poorest 50%”.

There are over one billion people living on the edge of poverty in this world and perhaps, “casues” and “rights” of the poor should take center stage every day in this world!

“Riches profit not in the day of wrath: but righteousness delivereth from death” (Proverbs 11:4).

“Charge them that are rich in this world, that they be not highminded, nor trust in uncertain riches, but in the living God, who giveth us richly all things to enjoy; that they do good, that they be rich in good works, ready to distribute, willing to communicate; laying up in store for themselves a good foundation against the time to come” (1 Timothy 6:17–19).

Jesus says: “Woe unto you that are rich; for ye have received your consolation” (Luke 6:24).
