Peace in Jerusalem?
The question still to this day being asked:
“So when will there be peace in Jerusalem?” Although, there will be numerous
attempts at peace culminating to the end of time, there is never going to be
peace in Jerusalem.
Here is the word of God: “Hear ye the word of
the LORD; thus saith the LORD God; woe unto the foolish prophets, that follow
their own spirit, and have seen nothing. To wit, the prophets of Israel which
prophesy concerning Jerusalem, and which see visions of peace for her, and
there is no peace,’ saith the LORD God” (Ezekiel 13:2–3, 16).
Many people overlook the fact that in John’s
vision of the end of time, the holy city, the great city, Jerusalem “was
spiritually called Sodom and Egypt, where also our Lord was crucified”
(Revelation 11:8).
God promised that the inhabitants of
Jerusalem and the city would remain for ever (Jeremiah 17:25) if they adhered
to his commandments. However, these commandments as spoken by Jeremiah, just as
the everlasting covenant were broken (Isaiah 24:5). God declared saying: “And first I will
recompense their iniquity and their sin double; because they have defiled my
land, they have filled mine inheritance with the carcases of their detestable
and abominable things” (Jeremiah 16:18). “And in her was found the blood of
prophets, and of saints, and of all that were slain upon the earth” (Revelation
18:23–24).
There will only be peace FOREVER in the NEW
JERUSALEM in the NEW WORLD to come in the NEW HEAVENS AND NEW EARTH (Revelation
21:1-3). In the last days of time, John in his vision clearly revealed the heavenly
Jerusalem when he saw the firstfruits or rather the first humans redeemed from
this earth with the Lamb on mount Sion (Revelation 14:1), “the city of the
living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, and to an innumerable company of angels”
(Hebrews 12:22).
