Paradise or Perdition?
Before this earth passes away, by the word of
God there are only two outcomes after the Day of Judgment - Paradise, a place
of everlasting habitations, or Perdition, a place of everlasting punishment.
Before the Last Day comes, while we are yet
alive, we must make a decision before time runs out whether we would like to
live forever or die of the second death (Revelation 20:12–15).
“And the Devil that deceived them was cast
into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are,
and shall be tormented day and night forever and ever. And the smoke of their
torment ascendeth up forever and ever: and they have no rest day nor night, who
worship the beast and his image, and whosoever receiveth the mark of his name”
(Revelation 20:11, 14:11).
“Who among us shall dwell with the devouring
fire? Who among us shall dwell with everlasting burnings?” (Isaiah 33:14). “For the Lord thy God is a consuming fire,
even a jealous God” (Deuteronomy 4:24).
To
not desire to live forever is to be led by spirit of error for and the desires,
deceitfulness of riches, deceitfulness of sin and deception of the pleasures of
life in this world which leads to perdition. We would be wise to desire to live, not just for today, but beyond the Last Day. Desire this and we will live be led by the Spirit of God every day in the Kingdom of God. To desire to live forever would mean to finally be going home to Paradise (Psalm 46:4, 87:3)!
