We must be careful of the words we speak:
Unfortunately, very unfortunately, a person
once remarked: “I am offended by somethings in the Bible”. To be offended by somethings
written in the Bible is to be offended by God: God forbid!
“MAN that is born of a woman is of few days,
and full of trouble. He cometh forth like a flower, and is cut down: he fleeth
also as a shadow, and continueth not.
Who can bring a clean thing out of an
unclean? not one. Seeing his days are determined, the number of his months are
with thee, thou hast appointed his bounds that he cannot pass;
So man lieth down, and riseth not: till the
heavens be no more, they shall not awake, nor be raised out of their sleep”
(Job 14:1-2, 4-5, 12).
Jesus says: “It is written, that
man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word of God” (Luke 4:4). “But I
say unto you, that every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give
account thereof in the Day of Judgment. For by thy words thou shalt be
justified, and by thy words thou shalt be condemned” (Matthew 12:36-37).
“He that rejecteth me, and receiveth not my
words, hath one that judgeth him: the word that I have spoken, the same shall
judge him in the Last Day” (John 12:48).
“Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my
words shall not pass away” (Matthew 24:35).
