Salvation
Human beings have had knowledge of good and
evil since the transgressions of Adam and Eve (Genesis 2:16–17). In this world
ruled by principalities of darkness (Romans 13:3) we must live by our Lord,
Savior and King who “..brought life and immortality to light through the
gospel” (2 Timothy 1:9–10), and by his example to “…refuse the evil, and choose
the good” (Isaiah 7:13-15) because it is wriiten: “The eyes of the LORD are in
every place, beholding the evil and the good” (Proverbs 15:3).
“For we must all appear before the judgment
seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body,
according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad” (2 Corinthians
5:10).
“Behold, the fear of the LORD, that is
wisdom; and to depart from evil is understanding” (Job 28:28).
“He that getteth wisdom loveth his own soul:
he that keepeth understanding shall find good” (Proverbs 19:8).
“The
LORD is my portion, saith my soul; therefore will I hope in him. The LORD is
good unto them that wait for him, to the soul that seeketh him. It is good that
a man should both hope and quietly wait for the salvation of the LORD”
(Lamentation 3:24-26).
