LIVING SACRIFICE.
The Apsotle Paul said: “I
beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your
bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable
service” (Romans 12:1).
“For we must all appear
before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done
in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad” (2
Corinthians 5:10).
“Go thy way, eat thy bread
with joy, and drink thy wine with a merry heart; for God now accepteth thy
works. For the living know that they shall die: but the dead know not anything,
neither have they any more a reward; for the memory of them is forgotten.
Whatsoever thy hand findeth to do, do it with thy might; for there is no work,
nor device, nor knowledge, nor wisdom, in the grave, whither thou goest”
(Ecclesiastes 9:7, 5 10).
On the Last Day, the Day of
Judgement when Jesus returns, it is written: “And many of them that sleep in
the dust of the earth shall awake, some to everlasting life, and some to shame
and everlasting contempt” (Daniel 12:2).
The Apostle Paul also reminds us, said: “Work out your own salvation with fear and trembling that ye may approve things that are excellent; that ye may be sincere and without offence till the day of Christ” (Philippians 2:12, 1:10).
