DAY OF J U D G M E N T.
Our
Lord, Savior and King Jesus Christ says: “The time is fulfilled, and the
Kingdom of God is at hand: repent ye, and believe the gospel” (Mark 1:15).
“And
as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment” (Hebrews
9:27).
“And
the times of this ignorance God winked at but now commandeth all men everywhere
to repent. Because he hath [APPOINTED A DAY], in which he will [JUDGE THE WORLD]
in righteousness by that man whom he hath ordained” (Acts 17:30-31).
“For
we must all appear before the [JUDGMENT SEAT OF CHRIST]; that every one may
receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it
be good or bad” (2 Corinthians 5:10).
JESUS
explains the events of the Day of Judgment, saying:
“When
the Son of man shall come in his glory, and all the holy angels with him, then shall
he sit upon the throne of his glory; and before him shall be gathered all
nations: and he shall separate them one from another, as a shepherd divideth
his sheep from the goats; and he shall set the sheep on his right hand, but the
goats on the left.
Then
shall the King say unto them on his right hand, ‘Come, ye blessed of my Father,
inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world’”
(Matthew 25:31–34).
“Then
shall he say also unto them on the left hand, depart from me, ye cursed, into
everlasting fire, prepared for the Devil and his angels. And these shall go
away into everlasting punishment” (Matthew 25:41, 46).
Let
us therefore be reminded that Paul the apostle said to: “Work out your own
salvation with fear and trembling that ye may approve things that are
excellent; that ye may be sincere and without offence till the [DAY OF CHRIST]”
(Philippians 2:12, 1:10).
