GREAT TRIBULATION.
These
two words trigger fear in untold numbers of people; and many have found comfort
in the belief that they will escape this period in the so called “rapture”.
But,
what does our Lord, Savior and King Jesus say:
“[WHEN
YE THEREFORE SHALL SEE THE ABOMINATION OF DESOLATION], spoken of by Daniel the
prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoso readeth, let him understand:)” (Matthew
24:15).
“And
[WHEN YE SHALL SEE JERUSALEM COMPASSED WITH ARMIES], then know that the
desolation thereof is nigh” (Luke 21:20)
“THEN
LET THEM WHICH BE IN JUDÆA FLEE INTO THE MOUNTAINS” (Matthew 24:16).
“And
pray ye that your flight be not in the winter” (Mark 13:16).
“[FOR
THEN SHALL BE GREAT TRIBULATION], such as was not since the beginning of the
world to this time, no, nor ever shall be” (Matthew 24:21).
“And
ye shall be hated of all men for my name’s sake. But there shall not an hair of
your head perish. In your patience possess ye your souls. And when ye shall see
Jerusalem compassed with armies, then know that the desolation thereof is nigh.
[THEN LET THEM WHICH ARE IN JUDÆA FLEE TO THE MOUNTAINS; AND LET THEM WHICH ARE
IN THE MIDST OF IT DEPART OUT; AND LET NOT THEM THAT ARE IN THE COUNTRIES ENTER
THEREINTO].
For
these be the days of vengeance, that all things which are written may be
fulfilled” (Luke 21:17-22).
“And
the brother shall deliver up the brother to death, and the father the child:
and the children shall rise up against their parents, and cause them to be put
to death. And ye shall be hated of all men for my name’s sake: but he that
endureth to the end shall be saved” (Matthew 10:21-22).
“And except those days should be shortened,
there should no flesh be saved: but for the elect’s sake those days shall be
shortened” (Matthew 24:22).
“In
the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the
world” (John 16:33).
“The
world cannot hate you; but me it hateth, because I testify of it, that the
works thereof are evil” (John 7:7).
“And fear not them which kill the body, but
are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy
both soul and body in hell” (Matthew 10:28).
“I
am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen” (Matthew 28:20).
“[IMMEDIATELY
AFTER THE TRIBULATION] of those days shall the sun be darkened, and the moon
shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers
of the heavens shall be shaken: [AND THEN SHALL APPEAR THE SIGN OF THE SON OF
MAN IN HEAVEN]: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they
shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great
glory” (Matthew 24:29-30).
“Behold,
he cometh with clouds; and [EVERY EYE SHALL SEE HIM], and they also which
pierced him: and all kindreds of the earth shall wail because of him. Even so,
Amen” (Revelation 1:7).
