GOD’s S A L V A T I O N: Everlasting Covenant was FIRST to the JEWS then to GENTILES.
“Blessed
is the nation whose God is the LORD; and the people whom he hath chosen for his
own inheritance” (Psalm 33:12).
“Glory
ye in his holy name: let the heart of them rejoice that seek the LORD. Seek the
LORD and his strength, seek his face continually. Remember his marvellous works
that he hath done, his wonders, and the judgments of his mouth; O ye seed of
Israel his servant, ye children of Jacob, his chosen ones. He is the LORD our God; his judgments are in
all the earth. Be ye mindful always of his covenant; the word which he
commanded to a thousand generations;
Even of the [COVENANT WHICH HE MADE WITH ABRAHAM, AND OF HIS OATH UNTO
ISAAC; AND HATH CONFIRMED THE SAME TO JACOB FOR A LAW, AND TO ISRAEL FOR AN
EVERLASTING COVENANT]” (1 Chronicles 16:10-17).
God
chose the people of Israel for his inheritance, and sent his only begotten Son
Jesus to this earth to both Jews and Gentiles, as it is written:
“Behold,
I have given him for a witness to the people, a leader and commander to the
people. And the Gentiles shall come to thy light, and kings to the brightness
of thy rising” (Isaiah 55:4, 60:3).
“A
light to lighten the Gentiles, and the glory of thy people Israel” (Luke 2:32).
Jesus
underscored this very fact in his communication with a Samaritan woman by a
well saying: “Ye worship ye know not what: we know what we worship: for
[SALVATION IS OF THE JEWS]” (John 4:22-24).
Jesus
selected Paul to be a minister to the Gentiles, as he said: “To open their
eyes, and to turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan unto
God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins, and inheritance among them
which are sanctified by faith that is in me” (Acts 26:18).
The
Apostle Paul explained, said: “THE GENTILES SHOULD BE FELLOWHEIRS, AS
CO-INHERITORS WITH THE JEWS AND PARTAKERS OF HIS PROMISE IN CHRIST BY THE
GOSPEL” (Ephesians 3:6).
“That
at that time ye were without Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth of
Israel, and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope, and
without God in the world. But now in Christ Jesus ye who sometimes were far off
are made nigh by the [BLOOD OF CHRIST]. For through him we both have access by
one Spirit unto the Father” (Ephesians 2:12–19).
“Now
the God of peace, that brought again from the dead our Lord Jesus, that great
shepherd of the sheep, [THROUGH THE BLOOD OF THE EVERLASTING COVENANT], Make
you perfect in every good work to do his will, working in you that which is
wellpleasing in his sight, through Jesus Christ; to whom be glory for ever and
ever. Amen” (Hebrews 13:20-21).
