Jesus
says: “Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the
kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven”
(Matthew 7:21).
“For
many are called, but few are chosen” (Matthew 22:14).
When
Jesus was here on this earth going about doing his Father’s business, he was
asked by his disciples, “What shall we do, that we might work the works of
God?” (John 6:28).
“Jesus
answered and said unto them, ‘This is the work of God, that ye believe on him
whom he hath sent’” (John 6:29).
“For
God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever
believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not
his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him
might be saved. He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that
believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of
the only begotten Son of God” (John 3:16-18).
“Whosoever
believeth that Jesus is the Christ is born of God; and every one that loveth
him that begat loveth him also that is begotten of him” (1 John 5:1).
“For
as the Father raiseth up the dead, and quickeneth them; even so the Son
quickeneth whom he will. For the Father judgeth no man, but hath committed all
judgment unto the Son: That all men should honour the Son, even as they honour
the Father. He that honoureth not the Son honoureth not the Father which hath
sent him. Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and
believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into
condemnation; but is passed from death unto life” (John 5:21-24).
