Righteousness
“The LORD liveth, in truth, in judgment, and
in righteousness” (Jeremiah 4:2).
To come to the knowledge of and obedience to
the word of God is not about religion, race, or riches; it is about
righteousness—the righteousness of God built on the foundation of Jesus Christ.
“For the righteous LORD loveth righteousness; his countenance doth behold the
upright” (Psalm 11:7).
“Yet if any man suffer as a Christian, let
him not be ashamed; but let him glorify God on this behalf. But rejoice,
inasmuch as ye are partakers of Christ’s sufferings; that, when his glory shall
be revealed, ye may be glad also with exceeding joy” (1 Peter 4:13, 16).
“All
scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for
reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness” (2 Timothy 3:16).
