"Love not the world..."
“Forever, O LORD, thy word is settled in
heaven” (Psalm 119:89).
Jesus says: “Heaven and earth shall pass
away, but my words shall not pass away” (Matthew 24:35).
“It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh
profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they
are life” (John 6:63).
“For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own
soul? Or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?” (Matthew 16:26).
“Love
not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man loves the
world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world, the
lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of
the Father, but is of the world. And the world passeth away, and the lust
thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth forever” (1 John 2:15–17).
