Immortality: quickening spirit
Every human being must consider, seriously
consider that we are just “clay” formed from this earth.
“And the LORD God formed man of the dust of
the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a
living soul” (Genesis 2:7).
We only have a “breath of life”; we do not
have life: “For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God”
(Colossians 3:3).
“For since by man came death, by man came
also the resurrection of the dead. For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ
shall all be made alive” (1 Corinthians 15:21–22).
“The first man is of the earth, earthy: the
second man is the Lord from heaven. As is the earthy, such are they also that
are earthy: and as is the heavenly, such are they also that are heavenly. And
as we have borne the image of the earthy, we shall also bear the image of the
heavenly. And so it is written, the first man Adam was made a living soul; the
last Adam was made a quickening spirit” (1 Corinthians 15:47–49, 45).
On the Last Day, the Day of Judgment, to live
forever, our frame must be changed from “clay” to “light” to become a
quickening spririt (1 Thessalonians 4:16-18)..
“Wherefore God saith: ‘Awake thou that
sleepest, and arise from the dead, and Christ shall give thee light’”
(Ephesians 5:14).
“Now this I say, brethren, that flesh and
blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God; neither doth corruption inherit
incorruption. Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we
shall all be changed” (1 Corinthians 15:50-51).
“In
a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall
sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed. For
this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on
immortality” (1 Corinthians 15:52–53).
