GOD’s two key PROMISES to human beings: Rainbow and C R O S S.
After
Noah and his family came out of the ark after the great flood, God promised
that the earth will not perish again by a great flood. God declared to Noah:
“I
do set my bow in the cloud, and it shall be for a token of a covenant between
me and the earth. And I will remember my covenant, which is between me and you
and every living creature of all flesh; and the waters shall no more become a
flood to destroy all flesh” (Genesis 9:13, 15).
“For
God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever
believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not
his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him
might be saved” (John 3:16-17).
“For
the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us
which are saved it is the [POWER OF GOD]” (1 Corinthians 1:19).
“Whereby
the world that then was, being overflowed with water, perished: But the heavens
and the earth, which are now, by the same word are kept in store, reserved unto
fire against the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men” (2 Peter 3:6-7).
“The
Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is
longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all
should come to repentance.
But
the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens
shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent
heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up.
Seeing
then that all these things shall be dissolved, what manner of persons ought ye
to be in all holy conversation and godliness, Looking for and hasting unto the
coming of the day of God, wherein the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved,
and the elements shall melt with fervent heat?” (2 Peter 3:9-12).
“Nevertheless
we, according to his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein
dwelleth righteousness. Wherefore, beloved, seeing that ye look for such
things, be diligent that ye may be found of him in peace, without spot, and
blameless” (2 Peter 3:13-14).
