Who is J E S U S?
“When Jesus came into the
coasts of Cæsarea Philippi, he asked his disciples, saying, ‘Whom do men say
that I the Son of man am?’
And they said, ‘Some say
that thou art John the Baptist: some, Elias; and others, Jeremias, or one of
the prophets.’
He saith unto them, ‘But
whom say ye that I am?’
And Simon Peter answered and
said, ‘Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God.’
And Jesus answered and said
unto him, ‘Blessed art thou, Simon Bar-jona: for flesh and blood hath not
revealed it unto thee, but my Father which is in heaven’” (Matthew 16:13-17).
“And I say also unto thee, ‘That
thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of
hell shall not prevail against it’” (Matthew 16:18).
“For God so loved the world,
that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not
perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to
condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. He that
believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned
already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of
God” (John 3:16-18).
“Jesus Christ the same
yesterday, and today, and forever” (Hebrews 13:8).
“I am he that liveth, and
was dead; and, behold, I am alive for evermore, Amen; and have the keys of hell
and of death” (Revelation 1:18).
