GOD or the World?
World Cup, World Series, World
Olympics, World Champions and the list goes on.
What do these have in come?
They are all of the ‘World’.
To love the things of this
world is to to be in love the prince of this world, the devil, aka Satan and the
pride of life in this world.
“Whosoever therefore will be
a friend of the world is an enemy of God” (James 4:4).
The word of God is very
clear saying: “Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world” (1
John 2:15).
“For the wisdom of this
world is foolishness with God” (1 Corinthians 3:19).
“If any man loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world. And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth forever” (1 John 2:15–17).
Jesus says: “Not every one
that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he
that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven” (Matthew 7:21).
“For many are called, but
few are chosen” (Matthew 22:14).
LOVE GOD: Before the world
there is GOD.
“For God so loved the world,
that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not
perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to
condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. He that
believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned
already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of
God” (John 3:16-18).
