“For
God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever
believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not
his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him
might be saved” (John 3:16-17).
“And
the times of this ignorance God winked at; but now commandeth all men every
where to [REPENT]: Because he hath [APPOINTED A DAY], in the which he will
judge the world in righteousness by that man whom he hath ordained; whereof he hath
given assurance unto all men, in that he hath raised him from the dead” (Acts
17:30-31).
Jesus,
the only begotten Son of God says: “The time is fulfilled, and the Kingdom of
God is at hand: [REPENT] ye, and believe the gospel” (Mark 1:15).
“I
came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance” (Luke 5:32).
“And
this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness
unto all nations; and then shall the end come” (Matthew 24:14).
“But
what saith it? The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that
is, the word of faith, which we preach; [THAT IF THOU SHALT CONFESS WITH THY
MOUTH THE LORD JESUS, AND SHALT BELIEVE IN THINE HEART THAT GOD HATH RAISED HIM
FROM THE DEAD, THOU SHALT BE SAVED]. For with the heart man believeth unto
righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation” (Romans
10:8-10).
Jesus
warns says: “Except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish” (Luke 13:3).
“The
Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is
longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all
should come to repentance.
But
the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens
shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent
heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up” (2
Peter 3:9-12).
“Nevertheless
we, according to his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein
dwelleth righteousness. Wherefore, beloved, seeing that ye look for such
things, be diligent that ye may be found of him in peace, without spot, and
blameless” (2 Peter 3:13-14).
