C H R I S T’S Coming: As in the Days of Noah and Lot (Luke 17:27-29).

There are numerous videos and other media documentaries which are claiming that in the last years before the coming of Jesus Christ the giants will again populate the earth as it was in the time of Noah before the great flood.

These giants or Anakims (Deuteronomy 1:28) were the offspring of the sons of God and the daughters of men (Genesis 6:1-6). The Holy Scriptures provides us with a glimpse of the size of these giants, men of renown in the old time, such as King Og, whose iron bed frame measured in length thirteen feet and five inches long and in width six feet (Deuteronomy 3:10–11).

The basis for these media presentations is from the Scriptures when Jesus expressed of his coming  saying: “But as the days of Noe were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be” (Matthew 24:37).

However, are these doctrines and documentaries correct in stating that the Anakims or giants will again roam the earth?

Firstly, the Holy Scriptures expressely states that God by th hand of Joshua smote and cast out the last of these giants in all the mountains in Israel and Judah (Joshua 13:12).

“And at that time came Joshua, and cut off the Anakims from the mountains, from Hebron, from Debir, from Anab, and from all the mountains of Judah, and from all the mountains of Israel: Joshua destroyed them utterly with their cities” (Joshua 11:21).

Secondly, when Jesus explained that his coming will be as in the days of Noah, he clearly expressing it will be as it was then how “they did eat, they drank, they married wives, they were given in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark, and the flood came, and destroyed them all” (Luke 17:27).

Jesus also explained that his coming will be as it was in the time of Sodom and Gomorrah saying: Likewise also as it was in the days of Lot; they did eat, they drank, they bought, they sold, they planted, they builded; but the same day that Lot went out of Sodom, it rained fire and brimstone from heaven, and destroyed them all” (Luke 17:27–29).

Our Lord Jesus Christ is basically explaining that before he comes people in this time will also be doing the same things: eating, drinking, marrying, building, and going about everyday life, and he will come unexpectedly as he says:

“Behold, I come as a thief. Blessed is he that watcheth, and keepeth his garments, lest he walk naked, and they see his shame” (Revelation 16:15).

“Watch therefore: for ye know not what hour your Lord doth come” (Matthew 24:42).
