Words of W I S D O M:
“Who can say, I have made my heart clean, I
am pure from my sin?” (Proverbs 20:9, 6).
“Be not righteous over much; neither make
thyself over wise: why shouldest thou destroy thyself? Be not over much wicked,
neither be thou foolish: why shouldest thou die before thy time? For there is
not a just man upon earth, that doeth good, and sinneth not” (Ecclesiastes
7:16-17, 20).
“Wherefore I perceive that there is nothing
better, than that a man should rejoice in his own works; for that is his
portion: for who shall bring him to see what shall be after him?” (Ecclesiastes
3:22).
“Go thy way, eat thy bread with joy, and
drink thy wine with a merry heart; for God now accepteth thy works. For the
living know that they shall die: but the dead know not anything, neither have
they any more a reward; for the memory of them is forgotten. Whatsoever thy
hand findeth to do, do it with thy might; for there is no work, nor device, nor
knowledge, nor wisdom, in the grave, whither thou goest” (Ecclesiastes 9:7, 5
10).
“For
in death there is no remembrance of thee: in the grave who shall give thee
thanks?” (Psalm 6:5).
