Word of God: Believe or doubt? Accept or reject? Salvation or Second death?
Jesus is very clear when he says: “It is
written, that man shall not live by bread alone, but by [EVERY] word of God”
(Luke 4:4).
We have a choice whether to believe EVERY
word of God. We cannot believe some words and doubt other words; neither can we
interpolate words into the word of God, and apply meanings from the word of
God. There is no half truths or fractional truths or his or her truth: There is
only Truth: word of God.
Our Lord Jesus Christ explained that his
coming will be as in the days of Noah and Lot (Matthew 24:37) (Luke 17:27–29).
Jesus warns, says: “Remember Lot’s wife”
(Luke 17:32)?
Lot, his wife and two daughters were elected
to be saved from the destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah. The angels of God told
them, saying: “Escape for thy life; look not behind thee, neither stay thou in
all the plain; escape to the mountain, lest thou be consumed” (Genesis 19:17).
Lot’s wife did not believe EVERY word of God
as spoken by the angels of God :…” look not behind thee,…”..
Lot’s wife was disobedient to the word of God; Lot’s wife did not endure to the
end and lost her Salvatiion! Lot’s wife loved life so much in Sodom and
Gomorrah that she had to have one last look, but it was not to be, because she
turned into a pillar of salt (Genesis 19:26).
Jesus also says: “Verily, verily, I say unto
you, The hour is coming, and now is, when the dead shall hear the voice of the
Son of God: and they that hear shall live” (John 5:24).
“Blessed are they that hear the word of God,
and keep it” (Luke 11:28).
“He that rejecteth me, and receiveth not my
words, hath one that judgeth him: the word that I have spoken, the same shall
judge him in the Last Day” (John 12:48).
