Rich in F A I T H or Riches of this world?
“Hath not God chosen the poor of this world
rich in faith, and heirs of the kingdom which he hath promised to them that
love him?” (James 2:5).
“For after that in the wisdom of God the
world by wisdom knew not God, it pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to
save them that believe” (1 Corinthians 1:17-21).
Jesus also reminds us to not “Let the cares
of this world, and the deceitfulness of riches, and the lusts of other things
entering in, choke the word and it becometh unfruitful” (Mark 4:19).
“For what is a man profited, if he shall gain
the whole world, and lose his own soul? Or what shall a man give in exchange
for his soul?” (Mark 8:36-37).
“Whoso despiseth the word shall be destroyed:
but he that feareth the commandment shall be rewarded” (Proverbs 13:13).
“Let thine heart retain my words: keep my
commandments, and live” (Proverbs 4:4).
“I rejoice at thy word, as one that findeth
great spoil” (Psalm 119:62).
“Thy word is true from the beginning: and
every one of thy righteous judgments endureth forever” (Psalm 119:160).
“Forever, O LORD, thy word is settled in
heaven” (Psalm 119:89).
