S P I R I T U A L Fitness: Our S O U L S must be fit!
Jesus says: “No man, having put his hand to
the plough, and looking back, is fit for the Kingdom of God” (Luke 9:62).
“For nation shall rise against nation, and
kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and
earthquakes, in divers places. And ye shall hear of wars and rumors of wars:
see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the
end is not yet” (Matthew 24:6–7).
“All these are the beginning of sorrows. Then
shall they deliver you up to be afflicted, and shall kill you: and ye shall be
hated of all nations for my name’s sake” (Matthew 24:8-9).
“And ye shall be betrayed both by parents,
and brethren, and kinsfolks, and friends; and some of you shall they cause to
be put to death. And ye shall be hated of all men for my name’s sake. “But
there shall not a hair of your head perish. In your patience possess ye your
souls” (Luke 21:16–19).
“And the brother shall deliver up the brother
to death, and the father the child: and the children shall rise up against
their parents, and cause them to be put to death. And ye shall be hated of all
men for my name’s sake: but he that endureth to the end shall be saved”
(Matthew 10:21-22).
“Now the just shall live by faith: but if any
man draws back, my soul shall have no pleasure in him. But we are not of them
who draw back unto perdition; but of them that believe to the saving of the
soul” (Hebrews 10:38–39).
Jesus also says: “Fear none of those things
which thou shalt suffer: behold, the devil shall cast some of you into prison,
that ye may be tried; and ye shall have tribulation ten days: be thou faithful
unto death, and I will give thee a crown of life” (Revelation 2:10).
