DAY OF JUDGMENT: The GATHERING of all NATIONS.
“Arise,
O God, judge the earth: for thou shalt inherit all nations” (Psalm 82:8).
“All
nations whom thou hast made shall come and worship before thee, O LORD; and
shall glorify thy name” (Psalms 86:9).
“And
it shall come to pass in the last days, that the mountain of the LORD’s house
shall be established in the top of the mountains, and shall be exalted above
the hills; and all nations shall flow unto it.
And
he shall judge among the nations, and shall rebuke many people: and they shall
beat their swords into plowshares, and their spears into pruninghooks: nation
shall not lift up sword against nation, neither shall they learn war any more” (Isaiah
2:2).
“And
the nations were angry, and thy [WRATH IS COME], and the time of the dead, that
they should be judged, and that thou shouldest give reward unto thy servants
the prophets, and to the saints, and them that fear thy name, small and great;
and shouldest destroy them which destroy the earth” (Revelation 11:18).
Jesus
explains the events of that day, saying:
“When
the Son of man shall come in his glory, and all the holy angels with him, then
shall he sit upon the throne of his glory; and before him shall be [GATHERED
ALL NATIONS]: and he shall separate them one from another, as a shepherd
divideth his sheep from the goats; and [HE SHALL SET THE SHEEP ON HIS RIGHT
HAND, BUT THE GOATS ON THE LEFT]. Then shall [THE KING SAY UNTO THEM ON HIS
RIGHT HAND], ‘Come, ye blessed of my Father, [INHERIT THE KINGDOM PREPARED FOR
YOU FROM THE FOUNDATION OF THE WORLD]’” (Matthew 25:31–34).
“Then
shall [HE SAY ALSO UNTO THEM ON THE LEFT HAND, DEPART FROM ME, YE CURSED, INTO
EVERLASTING FIRE], prepared for the Devil and his angels. And these shall go
away into everlasting punishment. And these shall go away into everlasting
punishment: [BUT THE RIGHTEOUS INTO LIFE ETERNAL]” (Matthew 25:41, 46).
“Then
cometh the end, when he shall have [DELIVERED UP THE KINGDOM TO GOD], even the
Father; when he shall have put down all rule and all authority and power” (1
Corinthians 15:24).
