DAY OF THE LORD:
Let
us keep ourselves unspotted from the world.
“Jesus
Christ the same yesterday, and today, and forever” (Hebrews 13:8), says: “No
man, having put his hand to the plough, and looking back, is fit for the
Kingdom of God” (Luke 9:62).
“For
if after they have escaped the pollutions of the world through the knowledge of
the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, they are again entangled therein, and
overcome, the latter end is worse with them than the beginning” (2 Peter 2:20).
James,
the brother of Jesus said: “If any man among you seem to be religious, and
bridleth not his tongue, but deceiveth his own heart, this man’s religion is
vain. Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, To visit
the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and [TO KEEP HIMSELF UNSPOTTED
FROM THE WORLD]” (James 1:26-27).
“He
that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches”
(Revelation 3:22).
“And
he saith unto me, Seal not the sayings of the prophecy of this book: [FOR THE
TIME IS AT HAND]. He that is unjust, let him be unjust still: and he which is
filthy, let him be filthy still: and he that is righteous, let him be righteous
still: and he that is holy, let him be holy still. [AND, BEHOLD, I COME
QUICKLY; AND MY REWARD IS WITH ME, TO GIVE EVERY MAN ACCORDING AS HIS WORK
SHALL BE]” (Revelation 22:10-12).
“Be
ye also patient; stablish your heart: for the coming of the Lord draweth nigh”
(James 5:8).
“But
of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my
Father only” (Matthew 24:36).
“But
as the days of Noe were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be”
(Matthew 24:37).
“Wherefore,
beloved, seeing that ye look for such things, be diligent that ye may be found
of him in peace, [WITHOUT SPOT], and blameless” (2 Peter 3:14).
