A PRAYERFUL LIFE versus Pride of Life:
“Designer
clothes, shoes, handbags, mansions, luxury cars, Penthouse villas, private
jets, private islands, lobster dinners and the list goes on!”
““But
thou, O man of God, flee these things; and follow after righteousness,
godliness, faith, love, patience, meekness” (1 Timothy 6:11).
We
must always PRAY to God in the name of JESUS ti supply our needs in this
lifetime!
“The
LORD is far from the wicked: but he heareth the prayer of the righteous”
(Proverbs 15:29).
Jesus
says: “Take heed, and beware of covetousness: for a man’s life consisteth not
in the abundance of the things which he possesseth” (Luke 12:15).
“Therefore
I say unto you, ‘Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat; neither for
the body, what ye shall put on. The life is more than meat, and the body is
more than raiment. Consider the ravens: for they neither sow nor reap; which
neither have storehouse nor barn; and God feedeth them: how much more are ye
better than the fowls?’” (Luke 12:22-24).
Jesus
further explains that we must not “Let the cares of this world, and the
deceitfulness of riches, and the lusts of other things entering in, choke the
word and it becometh unfruitful” (Mark 4:19).
“For
what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own
soul? Or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?” (Mark 8:36-37).
James,
the brother of Jesus further put into prospective our lifetime when he asked:
“Hath not God chosen the poor of this world rich in faith, and heirs of the
kingdom which he hath promised to them that love him?” (James 2:5).
“Riches
profit not in the day of wrath: but righteousness delivereth from death”
(Proverbs 11:4).
“For
the arms of the wicked shall be broken: but the LORD upholdeth the righteous”
(Psalm 37:17).
“The
LORD knoweth the days of the upright: and their inheritance shall be for ever”
(Psalm 37:18).
