“Be
patient therefore, brethren, unto the coming of the Lord. Behold, the
husbandman waiteth for the precious fruit of the earth, and hath long patience
for it, until he receive the early and latter rain. Be ye also patient;
stablish your hearts: for the coming of the Lord draweth nigh” (James 5:7–8).
“Therefore
let us not sleep, as do others; but [LET US WATCH AND BE SOBER]. For they that
sleep sleep in the night; and they that be drunken are drunken in the night.
But let us, who are of the day, be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith
and love; and for an helmet, the hope of salvation. [FOR GOD HATH NOT APPOINTED
US TO WRATH, BUT TO OBTAIN SALVATION BY OUR LORD JESUS CHRIST]” (1
Thessalonians 5:6-9).
Our Lord
Jesus Christ says: “Watch therefore: for ye know not what hour your Lord doth
come” (Matthew 24:42). “But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the
angels of heaven, but my Father only” (Matthew 24:36).
“Take
heed, brethren, lest there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief, in
departing from the living God. But exhort one another daily, while it is called
To day; lest any of you be hardened through the deceitfulness of sin. ]FOR WE
ARE MADE PARTAKERS OF CHRIST, IF WE HOLD THE BEGINNING OF OUR CONFIDENCE
STEDFAST UNTO THE END]” (Hebrews 3:12-14).
