SPIRIT OF CHRIST versus spirit of the wicked one:
We
cannot live and overcome this world by our own strength.
The
Apostle Paul said, “For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against
principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this
world, against spiritual wickedness in high places” (Ephesians 6:12). “For
rulers are not a terror to good works, but to the evil” (Romans 13:3).
The
god of this world, the prince of this world, the prince of the power of the
air, the dragon, the Devil, also known as Satan, the wicked one, the fallen
once anointed angel, Lucifer, and all his fallen angels know their end, and
their sole aim is to destroy human beings from inheriting Eternal Life (Revelation
12:12).
To
overcome them God sent his only begotten Son, Jesus to defeat the works of the
devil, aka Satan. Therefore, human beings would be wise to accept Jesus Christ
as Lord and Savior (John 3:16-18).
“Who
is he that overcometh the world, but he that believeth that Jesus is the Son of
God? This is he that came by water and blood, even Jesus Christ; not by water
only, but by water and blood. And it is the Spirit that beareth witness,
because the Spirit is truth” (1 John 5:5–6).
“Ye
are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that
is in you, than he that is in the world. They are of the world: therefore speak
they of the world, and the world heareth them. We are of God: he that knoweth
God heareth us; he that is not of God heareth not us. Hereby know we the spirit
of truth, and the spirit of error” (1 John 4:4-6).
“Look
unto me, and be ye saved, all the ends of the earth: for I am God, and there is
none else” (Isaiah 45:22).
“For
it is written, ‘I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, and will bring to
nothing the understanding of the prudent.’ For the preaching of the cross is to
them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of
God” (1 Corinthians 1:18-19).
“I
am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in
me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son
of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me” (Galatians 2:20).
“He
that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the
Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him” (John 3:36).
