Jesus
Christ says: “God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in
spirit and in truth” (John 4:23–24).
“It
is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I
speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life” (John 6:63).
The
Apostle Paul further explained, said: “Therefore we are always confident, knowing that,
whilst we are at home in the body, we are absent from the Lord” (2 Corinthians
5:6–7).
“So
then they that are in the flesh cannot please God” (Romans 8:8).
“But
ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God
dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his.
And if Christ be in you, the body is dead because of sin; but the Spirit is
life because of righteousness” (Romans 8:9-10).
“Therefore,
brethren, we are debtors, not to the flesh, to live after the flesh. For if ye
live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the
deeds of the body, ye shall live” (Romans 8:12-13).
“THERE
is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk
not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. For they that are after the flesh do
mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of
the Spirit” (Romans 8:1, 5).
“Be
not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he
also reap. For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption;
but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting”
(Galatians 6:7–8).
