SIGN OF END OF THE WORLD:
Jesus’ disciples yearn to know when they asked: “Tell us,
when shall these things be; and what shall be the sign of thy coming, and of
the end of the world?” (Matthew 24:3).
“For
nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall
be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places. And ye shall
hear of wars and rumors of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all these
things must come to pass, but the end is not yet” (Matthew 24:6–7).
Jesus
also warned us to “take heed that no man deceive you. For many shall come in my
name, saying, ‘I am Christ;’ and shall deceive many” (Matthew 24:4–5). What then is the key sign?
“When
ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the
prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoso readeth, let him understand)” (Matthew
24:15). “And when ye shall see Jerusalem compassed with armies, then know that
the desolation thereof is nigh” (Luke 21:20).
“So
likewise ye, when ye see these things come to pass, know ye that the Kingdom of
God is nigh at hand; then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption
draweth nigh” (Luke 21:31, 28).
