We must be DOERS of the word of GOD.
JAMES, a servant of God and of the Lord Jesus Christ…” (James 1:1)
reminds us that we must be “…doers of the word, and not hearers only…” (James
17:22).
“Wherefore lay apart all filthiness and superfluity of naughtiness, and [RECEIVE
WITH MEEKNESS THE ENGRAFTED WORD, WHICH IS ABLE TO SAVE YOUR SOULS].
But be ye [DOERS OF THE WORD, AND NOT HEARERS ONLY], deceiving your own
selves.
For if any be a hearer of the word, and not a doer, he is like unto a
man beholding his natural face in a glass: For he beholdeth himself, and goeth
his way, and straightway forgetteth what manner of man he was” (James 17:21-24)
“And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men;
knowing that of the Lord ye shall receive the reward of the inheritance: for ye
serve the Lord Christ” (Colossians 3:23–24).
“For the LORD preserveth the faithful, and plentifully rewardeth the
proud doer” (Psalm, 31:23).
Jesus says: “Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter
into the kingdom of heaven; but he that [DOETH THE WILL OF MY FATHER] which is
in heaven” (Matthew 7:21).
“Blessed are they that hear the word of God, and keep it” (Luke 11:28).
“Verily, verily, I say unto you, If a man keep my saying, he shall never see
death (John 8:51).
“Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away”
(Matthew 24:35).
“Forever, O LORD, thy word is settled in heaven” (Psalm 119:89).
