GOD sent JESUS to this Earth to be the CHRIST OF GOD.
“Blessed
be the Lord God of Israel; for he hath visited and redeemed his people, And
hath raised up an horn of salvation for us in the house of his servant David;
As he spake by the mouth of his holy prophets, which have been since the world
began” (Luke 1:68-70).
“And
Jacob begat Joseph the husband of Mary, of whom was born Jesus, who is called
Christ. So all the generations from Abraham to David are fourteen generations;
and from David until the carrying away into Babylon are fourteen generations;
and from the carrying away into Babylon unto Christ are fourteen generations”
(Matthew 1:16-17).
“Hath
not the scripture said, That Christ cometh of the seed of David, and out of the
town of Bethlehem, where David was?” (John 7:42).
“And
thou Bethlehem, in the land of Juda, art not the least among the princes of
Juda: for out of thee shall come a Governor, that shall rule my people Israel”
(Matthew 2:6).
God
sent Jesus to this earth “To give light to them that sit in darkness and in the
shadow of death, to guide our feet into the way of peace” (Luke 1:79): “a light
to lighten the Gentiles, and the glory of thy people Israel” (Luke 2:32).
“In
this was manifested the love of God toward us, because that God sent his only
begotten Son into the world, that we might live through him” (1 John 4:9).
