“Once saved always saved”? Many hold to beliefs and there are doctrines which preach along the lines, saying: “Once saved always saved”. But is this, Truth?
Absolutely this is NOT TRUTH by the word of God (Luke 9:62) Remember Lot’s wife” (Luke 17:32)?
Let us bring into remembrance, when the
scribes and the Pharisees brought a woman to Jesus to stone her to death
because of adultery.
Jesus stooped down and wrote with his finger on the ground and said to them,
“‘He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone at her” (John
8:7).
He stooped down again and wrote again, and one
by one they left leaving Jesus and the woman.
Jesus then asked her: “Woman, where are those
thine accusers? hath no man condemned thee?” (John 8:10).
“She said, ‘No man, Lord.’ ‘And Jesus said
unto her, ‘Neither do I condemn thee: [GO, AND SIN NO MORE]’” (John 8:3-11).
Jesus gave the woman his GIFT OF GRACE and let
her go.
Now, for those among us who believe that they
can continue to sin because they are under the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ,
they are encouraged to pay attention to the words “GO AND SIN NO MORE”!
“For the wages of sin is death; but the gift
of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord” (Romans 6:23).
“[FOR IF WE SIN WILFULLY] after that we have
received the knowledge of the truth, [THERE REMAINETH NO MORE SACRIFICE FOR
SINS]” (Hebrews 10:26).
“[FOR BY GRACE ARE YE SAVED THROUGH FAITH];
and that not of yourselves: [IT IS THE GIFT OF GOD]: Not of works, lest any man
should boast” (Ephesians 2:8-9).
“What then? shall we sin, because we are not
under the law, but under grace? God forbid. Know ye not, that to whom ye yield
yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of
sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness?” (Romans 6:15-16).
Jesus says: “No man, having put his hand to
the plough, and looking back, is fit for the Kingdom of God” (Luke 9:62). “But he that shall endure unto the end, the
same shall be saved” (Matthew 24:13).
Jesus says: “Remember Lot’s wife” (Luke
17:32)?
Lot. His wife and two daughters were elected to be saved form the destruction
of Sodom and Gomorrah, The angels of God told them, saying: “Escape for thy
life; look not behind thee, neither stay thou in all the plain; escape to the
mountain, lest thou be consumed” (Genesis 19:17).
However, Lot’s wife loved life so much in
Sodom and Gomorrah that she had to have one last look, but it was not to be,
because she turned into a pillar of salt (Genesis 19:26). Lot’s wife did not
believe the word of God as spoken by the angels of God. Lot’s wife was
disobedient to the word of God; Lot’s wife did not endure to the end and lost
her salvation!
Jesus again, very clearly says: “No man,
having put his hand to the plough, and looking back, is fit for the Kingdom of
God” (Luke 9:62);
“For if after they have escaped the pollutions
of the world through the knowledge of the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, they
are again entangled therein, and overcome, the latter end is worse with them
than the beginning” (2 Peter 2:20).
“Now the just shall live by faith: but if any
man draws back, my soul shall have no pleasure in him. But we are not of them
who draw back unto perdition; but of them that believe to the saving of the
soul” (Hebrews 10:38–39).
“Keep yourselves in the love of God, looking
for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto [ETERNAL LIFE]” (Jude 1:21).
“The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the
love of God, and the communion of the Holy Ghost, be with you all. Amen” (2
Corinthians 13:14).
