GOOD FRIDAY.
JESUS CHRIST on that faithful day over two thousand years ago was made to take up HIS CROSS on that hot sunny day and walk to CALVARY (Luke 23:33).
“[SURELY HE
HATH BORNE OUR GRIEFS, AND CARRIED OUR SORROWS]: yet we did esteem him
stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted. But he was wounded for our
transgressions, [HE WAS BRUISED FOR OUR INIQUITIES]: the chastisement of our
peace was upon him; [AND WITH HIS STRIPES WE ARE HEALED]. He was oppressed, and
he was afflicted, yet he opened not his mouth: [HE IS BROUGHT AS A LAMB TO THE
SLAUGHTER], and as a sheep before her shearers is dumb, [SO HE OPENETH NOT HIS
MOUTH]” (Isaiah 53:4-5,7).
When we face sufferings in this world,
we must always let these words of the Apostle Paul resonate in our hearts to
keep in remembrance the SUFFERINGS AND SACRIFICE of JESUS CHRIST on GOOD FRIDAY.
“PAUL, an
apostle, (not of men, neither by man, but by Jesus Christ, and God the Father,
who raised him from the dead;)” (Galatians 1:1), said:
“For I reckon that the sufferings of
this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be
revealed in us” (Romans 8:18).
“For none of
us liveth to himself, and no man dieth to himself. For whether we live, we live
unto the Lord; and whether we die, we die unto the Lord: whether we live
therefore, or die, we are the Lord’s. For to this end Christ both died, and
rose, and revived, that he might be Lord both of the dead and living” (Romans
14:7-9).
“The grace
of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the communion of the Holy
Ghost, be with you all. Amen” (2 Corinthians 13:14).
