The HOLY SCRIPTURES foretold of the birth of the ONLY BEGOTTEN SON OF GOD (Isaiah 9:6–7).
The word of God said: “Behold, I have given him for a witness to the
people, a leader and commander to the people” (Isaiah 55:4).
“BEHOLD my servant, whom I uphold; mine elect, in whom my soul
delighteth; I have put my spirit upon him: he shall bring forth judgment to the
Gentiles” (Isaiah 42:1).
“And in that day there shall be a root of Jesse, which shall stand for
an ensign of the people; to it shall the Gentiles seek: and his rest shall be
glorious” (Isaiah 11:10).
“I the LORD have called thee in righteousness, and will hold thine hand, and will keep thee, and give thee for a covenant of the people, for a light of the Gentiles;
To open the blind eyes, to bring out the prisoners from the prison, and them that sit in darkness out of the prison house.
I am the LORD: that is my name: and my glory will I not give to another, neither my praise to graven images” (Isaiah 42:6-8).
JESUS is of the house and lineage of David, a Beth-lehemite; hence the
city of David is called Bethlehem (Luke 2:1-4) (1 Samuel 16:1).
“And thou Bethlehem, in the land of Juda, art not the least among the princes of Juda: for out of thee shall come a Governor, that shall rule my people Israel” (Matthew 2:6). “Hath not the scripture said, That Christ cometh of the seed of David, and out of the town of Bethlehem, where David was?” (John 7:42).
“Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us” (Matthew 1:23). “And thou, child, shalt be called the prophet of the Highest: for thou shalt go before the face of the Lord to prepare his ways; To give knowledge of salvation unto his people by the remission of their sins” (Luke 1:76-77).
