We must live today in the FAITH OF JESUS CHRIST and not be concerned for tomorrow. When we speak about or plan for tomorrow we must always make sure we say: “If the Lord will” or “God’s willing” because we do not know what wlll happen tomorrow.
“Boast not thyself of to morrow; [FOR THOU KNOWEST NOT WHAT A DAY MAY BRING FORTH]” (Proverbs 27:1).
“It is of the LORD’s mercies that we are not consumed,
because his compassions fail not. They are new every morning: great is thy
faithfulness” (Lamentations 3:22-23).
James, the brother of Jesus also expressed, said: “Go to now,
ye that say, To day or to morrow we will go into such a city, and continue
there a year, and buy and sell, and get gain: [WHEREAS YE KNOW NOT WHAT SHALL
BE ON THE MORROW. FOR WHAT IS YOUR LIFE]? It is even a vapour, that appeareth
for a little time, and then vanisheth away. For that ye ought to say, [IF THE
LORD WILL, WE SHALL LIVE, AND DO THIS, OR THAT]. But now ye rejoice in your
boastings: all such rejoicing is evil” (James 4:13-16).
Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ expressly said: “[TAKE
THEREFORE NO THOUGHT FOR THE MORROW]: [FOR THE MORROW SHALL TAKE THOUGHT FOR
THE THINGS OF ITSELF]. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof” (Matthew
6:34).
Therefore [TAKE NO THOUGHT], saying, [WHAT SHALL WE EAT]? or,
[WHAT SHALL WE DRINK]? or, [WHEREWITHAL SHALL WE BE CLOTHED]?” (Matthew 6:31).
“But [SEEK YE FIRST] the kingdom of God, and his
righteousness; [AND ALL THESE THINGS] shall be added unto you” (Matthew 6:33).
“Wherefore, if God so clothe the grass of the field, which to
day is, and to morrow is cast into the oven, shall he not much more clothe you,
[O YE OF LITTLE FAITH]?” (Matthew 6:30).
The Apostle Paul also said: “For ye are all the [CHILDREN OF
GOD] by [FAITH IN CHRIST JESUS]” (Galatians 3:24).
“(For we [WALK BY FAITH], not by sight:)” (2 Corinthians
5:7).
“See then that ye walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as
wise; Redeeming the time, because the days are evil. Wherefore be ye not
unwise, but understanding what the will of the Lord is” (Ephesians 5:15-17).
“Finally, my brethren, [BE STRONG IN THE LORD, AND IN THE
POWER OF HIS MIGHT]” (Ephesians 6:10). “The Lord Jesus Christ be with thy
spirit. Grace be with you. Amen” (2 Timothy 4:22).
