THE GOSPEL OF JESUS CHRIST IS THE LIGHT OF THE GOSPEL: “[FOR GOD, WHO COMMANDED THE LIGHT TO SHINE OUT OF DARKNESS], hath shined in our hearts, [TO GIVE THE LIGHT OF THE KNOWLEDGE OF THE GLORY OF GOD IN THE FACE OF JESUS CHRIST]” (2 Corinthians 4:5-6).
“[WHO IS AMONG YOU THAT FEARETH] the LORD, that
obeyeth the voice of his servant, [THAT WALKETH IN DARKNESS, AND HATH NO LIGHT]?
Let him [TRUST IN THE NAME] of the LORD, and [STAY UPON HIS GOD]” (Isaiah
50:10).
Paul, the apostle to the Gentiles who preached the GOSPEL
OF JESUS CHRIST said: “For I am not ashamed of the [GOSPEL OF CHRIST]: for [IT
IS THE POWER OF GOD UNTO SALVATION TO EVERYONE THAT BELIEVETH]; to the Jew
first, and also to the Greek” (Romans 1:16).
“And my speech and my preaching was not with enticing
words of man’s wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power: [THAT
YOUR FAITH SHOULD NOT STAND IN THE WISDOM OF MEN, BUT IN THE POWER OF GOD]” (1
Corinthians 2:4-5).
“[AND HAVE NO FELLOWSHIP WITH THE UNFRUITFUL WORKS OF DARKNESS], but
rather reprove them. For it is a shame even to speak of those things which are
done of them in secret. But all things that are reproved are made manifest by
the light: for whatsoever doth make manifest is light” (Ephesians 5:11–13).
“For it is written, ‘I will destroy the wisdom of the
wise, and will bring to nothing the understanding of the prudent.’ [FOR THE
PREACHING OF THE CROSS IS TO THEM THAT PERISH FOOLISHNESS; BUT UNTO US WHICH
ARE SAVED IT IS THE POWER OF GOD]. For after that in the wisdom of God the
world by wisdom knew not God, it pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to
save them that believe” (1 Corinthians 1:18–19, 21).
“BUT IF OUR GOSPEL BE HID, IT IS HID TO THEM THAT ARE
LOST:
In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds
of them which believe not, [LEST THE LIGHT OF THE GLORIOUS GOSPEL OF CHRIST],
who is the image of God, should shine unto them.
For we preach not ourselves, but Christ Jesus the
Lord; and ourselves your servants for Jesus’ sake.
[FOR GOD, WHO COMMANDED THE LIGHT TO SHINE OUT OF DARKNESS],
hath shined in our hearts, [TO GIVE THE LIGHT OF THE KNOWLEDGE OF THE GLORY OF
GOD IN THE FACE OF JESUS CHRIST]” (2 Corinthians 4:3-6).
