Filthy Rich or Dirt Poor? GOD made both from the DUST, and surely the rich have no preeminence over the poor (Genesis 2:7). "The rich and poor meet together: the LORD is the maker of them all” (Proverbs 22:2).
“The Lord knoweth them that are his” (2 Timothy 2:19). “Now if any man has not the [SPIRIT OF CHRIST], he is none of his” (Romans 8:9).
We must have the SPIRIT OF CHRIST to enter into the Kingdom
of Heaven.
JESUS says: “[BLESSED ARE THE POOR] in [SPIRIT]: for theirs
is the kingdom of heaven” (Matthew 5:3).
“TAKE HEED, AND BEWARE OF COVETOUSNESS: for a man’s life
consisteth not in the abundance of the things which he possesseth” (Luke
12:15).
“‘[VERILY I SAY UNTO YOU, THAT A RICH MAN SHALL HARDLY ENTER
INTO THE KINGDOM OF HEAVEN]’” (Matthew 18-23).
“Hath not God [CHOSEN THE POOR OF THIS WORLD RICH IN FAITH],
and heirs of the kingdom which he hath promised to them that love him?” (James
2:5).
“Charge them that are rich in this world, that they be not
highminded, nor trust in uncertain riches, but in the living God, who giveth us
richly all things to enjoy; that they do good, that they be rich in good works,
ready to distribute, willing to communicate; laying up in store for themselves
a good foundation against the time to come” (1 Timothy 6:17–19).
When a young man wanted to know what he must do to inherit
eternal life, Jesus answered: “[IF THOU WILT ENTER INTO LIFE, KEEP THE
COMMANDMENTS]” (Matthew 19:17). The young man then wanted to know which
commandments.
“Jesus said, ‘Thou shalt do no murder, Thou shalt not commit
adultery, Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not bear false witness, Honour thy
father and thy mother: and, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.
The young man saith unto him, ‘All these things have I kept
from my youth up: what lack I yet?’ Jesus said unto him, ‘If thou wilt be
perfect, go and sell that thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have
treasure in heaven: and come and follow me.
’But when the young man heard that saying, he went away
sorrowful: for he had great possessions. Then said Jesus unto his disciples,
‘[VERILY I SAY UNTO YOU, THAT A RICH MAN SHALL HARDLY ENTER INTO THE KINGDOM OF
HEAVEN]’” (Matthew 18-23)
“And again I say unto you, It is easier for a camel to go
through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of
God. When his disciples heard it, they were exceedingly amazed, saying, ‘[WHO
THEN CAN BE SAVED]?’ But Jesus beheld them, and said unto them, ‘WITH MEN THIS
IS IMPOSSIBLE; BUT WITH GOD ALL THINGS ARE POSSIBLE’” (Matthew 19:24-26).
“Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth
and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal. But lay up
for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt,
and where thieves do not break through nor steal. For where your treasure is,
there will your heart be also” (Matthew 6:19-21).
“[BLESSED ARE THEY WHICH ARE PERSECUTED FOR RIGHTEOUSNESS’]
sake: for theirs is the [KINGDOM OF HEAVEN]” (Matthew 5:10).
“[BLESSED ARE THE PEACEMAKERS]: for they shall be called the
children of God. [BLESSED ARE THE PURE IN HEART]: for they shall see God”
(Matthew 5:8-9).
“Verily, verily, I say unto you, [HE THAT BELIEVETH ON ME
HATH EVERLASTING LIFE]. I am that bread of life” (John 6:47-48).
In glory of the FATHER, the SON and the HOLY SPIRIT. Amen.
