DAY of the LORD.
“This is the day which the LORD hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it” (Psalm 118:24).
Let us rejoice today because Jesus says: “Take
therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the
things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof” (Matthew 6:34).
James, the brother of Jesus also said: “Whereas ye
know not what shall be on the morrow. For what is your life? It is even a
vapour, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away. For that ye ought to say, If the Lord will,
we shall live, and do this, or that” (Jmaes 4:14-15).
“NOW we beseech you, brethren, by the coming of our
Lord Jesus Christ, and by our gathering together unto him, That ye be not soon
shaken in mind, or be troubled, neither by spirit, nor by word, nor by letter
as from us, as that [THE DAY OF CHRIST IS AT HAND].
But we are bound to give thanks alway to God for you,
brethren beloved of the Lord, because [GOD HATH FROM THE BEGINNING CHOSEN YOU
TO SALVATION] through sanctification of the Spirit and belief of the truth:
Whereunto he called you by our gospel, [TO THE
OBTAINING OF THE GLORY OF OUR LORD JESUS CHRIST].
Therefore, brethren, stand fast, and hold the
traditions which ye have been taught, whether by word, or our epistle” (2
Thessalonians 2:1-2, 14-15).
“Now the God of peace be with you all. Amen” (Romans
15:33).
